National Polyamory Day - Field Day & Picnic

November 23rd is National Polyamory Day!

Come join us for an afternoon of food, games, and community building. This family friendly event will be free & open to the public. The picnic will be potluck style (so please bring a dish to share and a blanket to spread). Some staples will be provided - menu to follow.

This year we will also be adding a community field day full of fun and silly competitions. Think back to grade school! There will be sack races, tug of war, egg/spoon relay, kickball, 3+ legged races, cornhole, face painting and more!

SVOB park is located in central Tempe, AZ. There is lots of grass and shade, plus a large playground on site for children. Bathrooms will be provided in a private residence by the park.

Navigating non-monogamy often invites us to face complexity — moments of deep love and connection alongside discomfort, jealousy, or uncertainty. Gratitude can be a powerful way to ground ourselves in those moments — to reconnect with what nourishes us, to honor the people who walk beside us, and to find meaning in the challenges we face.

Join us for a two-hour guided discussion group centered on Gratitude in Non-Monogamy. Through writing, reflection, and group sharing, we’ll explore how gratitude shows up in our relationships, how it helps us navigate hard moments, and the many ways we can express and sustain it. This session is designed to be dynamic, supportive, and heart-centered — a space where authenticity matters more than perfection.

Together, we’ll:

• Map our gratitude networks and the people who shape our journeys

• Reframe challenges and difficult emotions through gratitude

• Explore creative and embodied ways to express appreciation in our relationships

• Share practices for holding gratitude even when it’s hard to find

This group welcomes people at all stages of their non-monogamous journeys — solo poly, relationship anarchists, partnered folks, newcomers, and seasoned practitioners alike. Whether you’re feeling deeply connected or moving through relational friction, this discussion offers space to reflect, connect, and grow.

Most of us are familiar with the 5 Love Languages; however, many times, shrinking down the way we connect and love others into 5 buckets can feel limiting! Join us as we learn about the 18 Languages of Modern Love by Anne Hodder-Shipp, an in-depth, inclusive, and expansive approach to the ways that we give, receive, and identify love! We will discuss Hodder-Shipp's 18 languages of modern love, how they show up in our relationships, and how to self-identify the "modern love languages" within ourselves and our relationships with others.

metamour Day 2024 at apex!

NCSF (The National Coalition for Sexual Freedom) created Metamour Day in 2019 to honor the relationships between you and your metamours, however that might look. It is not about forced compersion; it’s about communal appreciation within our family structures and modeling positivity to the world around us. Metamour Day is a recognition of the unique and special relationships between metamours.

Free food, free friends. 18+

What is a Metamour?

A metamour is someone who is a polyamorous partner's partner, that they have no romantic relationship with. This can be their partner's other girlfriend or boyfriend or their partner's spouse.

APEX would like to support our non-monogamous community and their partners by hosting a metamour social. We will provide green chile pork, waffles, and ice cream! You bring side dishes and your umm… other sides and let’s all hang out. Don’t worry. It’s a dungeon, we have plenty of ways to break the ice if it gets awkward or uncomfortable.
